A large Belgian utility was urgently looking for straight splicefor the affected flood area in Wallonia (B). Despite the holiday period, Lovink was able to deliver more than 100 LoviSil® splices for connecting PILC cables within a few days.

Many will remember the heavy rainfall that caused catastrophic flooding in Limburg, Belgium and Germany last July. This led to enormous damage and much human suffering in these areas. The utility in Wallonia was faced with the challenge of replacing the damaged cables and cable splices as quickly as possible. Two things were important; a solid, watertight solution and the speed of delivery.

Waterproof solution
The advantages of the liquid silicone technology were already known to the customer. The LoviSil® cable splices have been used by the utility for years in areas where failures are encountered. The robust insulation of the Protolin® resin and the 2 bar type test make the LoviSil® cable splice one of the most watertight and solid cable splics.

Challenge delivery time
Together with the Belgian distributor Infratech, we quickly mapped out all specifications. Due to the holiday period we had a limited workforce, but this delivery was given priority. We were able to make room in the planning and went the extra mile. This enabled us to deliver the cable splices within 2 weeks. “The utility expressed his appreciation for the speed and dedication”, according to Marc Prégardien of Infratech.
