Hello, nice of you to visit our internship site!
Doing an internship at Lovink Enertech offers many advantages. We are a personal, flexible and dynamic organization with short lines of communication. We offer you a challenge, good substantive guidance, a fixed point of contact and an enthusiastic engineering team in which cooperation is important. The team will facilitate and encourage you in every possible way to achieve your learning goals. Within Lovink there is plenty of room for own initiative and development. Flexible working hours and places make it possible to fill in the internship individually. Of course, you will receive an excellent internship allowance.
Finally, there are opportunities for further development in addition to work. Interns regularly continue to work with us as holiday workers, as temporary workers to continue a job or enter into a regular position.
What does the Engineering & Development
department do?Modern products and innovative solutions for specific issues, that is the challenge we work on every day. The Engineering & Development department is responsible for the development of new products and the optimisation and technical maintenance of the existing product portfolio.
We therefore invest a lot in product development and engineering. To this end, Lovink Enertech has extensive and modern test facilities, such as an electrical and materials laboratory and an outdoor test field. Our development projects often have an external focus, in which cooperation with customers is of great importance. In addition, we cannot and do not want to do everything ourselves, which means that we continuously seek and have partnerships with universities, colleges, research institutes and suppliers.

If you would like to know more about an assignment or would like to get acquainted, please contact Dennis Bergsma (Manager E&D) by email d.bergsma@lovink.com or by telephone 06-12443980. We look forward to your response!
1. Are you designing a new concept Faraday cage for our cable joints?
Cable joints for the medium-voltage network have a Faraday cage, which, among other things, prevents electromagnetic pollution from entering the network. The Faraday cage is mounted in the cable joint by mechanics.
Objective
Designing an assembly-friendly cage, which cannot be assembled incorrectly, at a cost price that is lower than the current Faraday cage.
Required knowledge
Mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering or Industrial Product Design, HBO level.
Duration
Graduation project for 6-9 months
2. Have you come up with a smart method for cost engineering within our department?
Various methods for cost engineering are known in the literature. Which methods are usable for Lovink Enertech? Which components are eligible? And what are the potential returns?
Objective
The assignment must lead to the selection of a method that can be applied generically to Lovink Enertech’s products, including the implementation and elaboration of a concrete example.
Required knowledge
Mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering or Industrial Product Design, HBO level.
Duration
Internship or graduation project for 6-9 months
3. Do you get excited about redesigning parts?
Repair sleeves are used to repair damaged cables. Where a normal cable sleeve has standard connectors, a repair sleeve has extended connectors to bridge the damage. The extended connectors are kept at a distance by a so-called tube set. The current tube set is in need of renewal.
Objective
Design of an extended tube set, if possible built from standard components. The assignment is concluded with a ‘prove of concept’ by means of a prototype.
Required knowledge
Mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering or Industrial Product Design, MBO level.
Duration
Internship for 4-6 months
4. Will you work with us on continuous improvement of our wax?
Objective: to develop a new polyurethane resin based on an alternative hardener.
For a watertight seal and mechanical protection of the cable joint, a two-component polyurethane resin is used in the cable joint. This resin meets the requirements set out in the IEC 60455 standard, a standard that has been drawn up to guarantee the safe application of the resin in the cable joint. When a recipe change of the resin occurs, the resin is re-evaluated according to the standard. At the moment we have a very effective polyurethane resin, based on an isocyanate harder. We are looking for alternatives to this mullet that are an improvement in terms of CSR. For this, several options can be considered, with the end goal of producing a two-component polyurethane resin with similar properties and components to our current standard-compliant polyurethane resin.
Required knowledge
HLO Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry.
Duration
Graduation project for 4-6-9 months
