Can cable splices contribute to a fast connection on wind farms? Certainly! Lovink Enertech recently supplied LoviSil® Feed-In splices for the Lünegraben Wind Farm in Germany. These special branch splices can be used without additional splices, with less cable length and a shorter installation time.
Upgrading wind farms that have been in operation for some time is becoming increasingly common in Germany. The work at the Lünegraben Wind Farm was outsourced to the contracting company Nüsse Kabel. The training went smoothly because the technicians were very experienced in the field of medium voltage connections.
The installation in the field was carried out under the supervision of Lovink: “the technicians only knew of the heat shrink and cold shrink splices but are now also trained in the LoviSil® technique. They quickly mastered the step-by-step approach of connecting, electrical insulation, neutral and installing exterior insulation. They all liked the simplicity,” says Dennis Jansen.
