Where it all began: innovation since 1911
Imagine: at the beginning of the last century. An engineer from the Provincial Gelderland Electricity Company is riding his motorcycle along the railway track towards Terborg. On the back of the luggage carrier a cast iron cable sleeve. He is on his way to Lovink, looking for an alternative to German cable joints. That search ends well. Not long after, Lovink delivered the first cable joints to PGEM, the predecessor of today’s Alliander. In doing so, Lovink plays a key role in the introduction of the first underground electricity grids in the Netherlands.
Since our founding in 1911, we have been building on that innovative tradition. Today, Lovink is known as a reliable partner for high-quality cable joints. Our strength lies in long-term collaborations with customers and partners all over the world.

Our technologies for reliable cable connections
The energy world is facing major challenges: grid congestion, complex network situations and extreme soil conditions such as high groundwater levels or prolonged drought. Our cable joints perform under all conditions and help grid operators, the renewable energy sector and industries to achieve stable, safe and future-proof energy grids. Where standard products fall short, we offer specialized solutions.
With in-depth expertise in electrical, chemical and mechanical engineering, we combine knowledge and innovation to develop cable joints that excel in reliability under the most demanding conditions. Our vision of quality and innovation is reflected in two core technologies: LoviSil® and LoviX®.
LoviSil® uses liquid silicone insulation. This technology minimizes air inclusions, prevents partial discharges and provides long-lasting protection even in moist or heavily soiled soils. LoviSil® is proven to be reliable and prepared for modern MV networks with high loads and harmonic pollution.
LoviX® stands for robustness and simplicity. Thanks to cold-shrink technology and a strong housing filled with Protolin® resin, this technology offers a strong, waterproof solution.
With LoviSil® and LoviX®, we deliver solutions that offer certainty – today and in the future.
Lovink Academy
Your project, our responsibility
A reliable energy network requires more than robust cable connections and proven technologies. The success of any project is ultimately determined by the knowledge, skills and commitment of the technicians working on it. This is why Lovink sees training and supervision as an integral part of its responsibility.
At the Lovink Academy , our specially trained trainers ensure that your technicians fully master the installation and application of our cable joints. We offer training courses that combine theory and practice, ranging from targeted assembly guidance to complete training programs. In this way, we build safety, quality and reliability together in every network situation.
Lovink Laboratories
Royal Lovink has extensive and modern test facilities, such as an electrical and materials laboratory and an outdoor test field for testing medium-voltage cable fittings.
Testing is carried out in accordance with CENELEC HD 629, IEC 61442 (garnishes) and IEC 60455-3-8 (resins) for Europe. And according to IEEE 404 for the United States. In addition, Lovink Enertech is making the tests more difficult by testing with a water pressure of 20 metres (2 bar) water column. As a result, our cable connections guarantee the highest watertightness in the industry.
CSR
Our operations
Our ambition
”It is our ambition as an SME to contribute maximally to CSR and sustainable business.”
We notice that customers are increasingly asking for sustainable(er) products. To meet this demand, it is our ambition to create a ‘Responsible Product’. In order to translate this ambition into concrete objectives, in consultation with stakeholders we have identified four CSR pillars that we want to focus on in the coming years. We want to focus on the pillars: sustainable purchasing, chain responsibility, environmentally oriented product development and communication.
For example, we have started a process to purchase products and materials sustainably, assessing and selecting suppliers on CSR criteria and making transport routes more efficient. In addition, we will eventually eliminate the use of hazardous substances and develop products in an innovative and socially responsible manner. We want CSR to be part of our corporate culture.
We strive to make sustainable choices in our operations. We focus on the following themes: Sustainable procurement, supply chain responsibility, environmental product development and communication.
