First successful field assembly LoviX® R cable joint in the Netherlands
With the first practical installation of the LoviX® R cable joint, Lovink Enertech has taken an important step in the development of future-proof medium-voltage networks. In collaboration with a Dutch grid operator, this innovative straight through joint was successfully installed. Practical test in Limburg: fast and error-free installation
During a test installation on a 20 kV connection of XLPE cables (240 mm²), three sleeves were installed. Results:
- Last sleeve assembled in 45 minutes including cable preparation
- Ease of installation comparable to traditional cold shrink sleeves
- Mechanics praised the smart packaging and waste disposal.
The verdict of those present – including several interested colleagues of the grid operator – was unanimous: the cable joint looks solid, is clearly structured and gives confidence. “That is exactly the goal of the LoviX® R,” says Frank van Lent, Project Manager Product Development at Lovink Enertech. “We want jointers to go to work with confidence. This not only promotes quality, but also safety and speed in the field.”
Sustainable and locally produced
The shell components of the LoviX® R cable joint are made of recycled ABS and produced in Limburg. This contributes to sustainability and local involvement.
