LoviSil® feed-in joint: economical choice for wind farms

The LoviSil® feed-in joint from Lovink Enertech makes it possible to feed electricity from wind turbines directly into the existing grid, without an additional substation. This results in significant cost savings for project developers.

Special feed-in sleeve for wind farms

Rembrandt Wind Farm in Coevorden opted for this innovative solution. The feed-in joint is equipped with a specially developed connector, so that cables from wind turbines (usually 1-core and smaller in diameter) can easily be connected to larger cables from the existing network.

Example from Coevorden:
  • Windmills: 2 x 3 x 1-core 70 mm²
  • Power cable: 3-core 150 mm² polymeric cable, 10 kV

Assembly guidance by experts

The experienced jointers of Joulz GreenTec were already working with LoviSil® cable joints, but not yet with feed-in joints. Lovink Enertech supervised the assembly and looks back on a successful process: “The jointers quickly mastered the technology and the assembly went smoothly,” says Frans Hartwig, Sr. Account Manager at Lovink Enertech.

Cost savings and efficiency

Project developer Yard Energy deliberately chose the feed-in joint because of the economic benefits:

  • No additional substation required
  • Less cable length required
  • Quick and easy installation
This smart choice results in lower costs and a more efficient infrastructure.
