LoviSil® oil refill joint: quick solution for PILC cables

The LoviSil® oil refill joint from Lovink Enertech offers an economical and reliable solution to protect paper-insulated cables from drying out. Since its introduction in 2010, Lovink Enertech has realized numerous industrial applications. Recently, a German chemical company applied the joint in a PILC network with an oil supply system in copper pipes. The company immediately experienced the benefits of the LoviSil® oil refill system.

Well thought-out technology saves time

Previously, PILC cables were maintained by a complex construction with soldered copper tubes around each core. For a 3-wire connection, this meant three joints and days of work. The alternative was complete cable replacement.

With LoviSil® cross-bonding , this is a thing of the past:

  • Cost savings due to less material and labor

Easy installation in practice

Installation is simple:

  1. Cut a piece out of the lead jacket without damaging it.
  2. Insert a plastic oil saddle with clamp.
  3. An oil connection to the joint is realized via a PUR hose and transit coupling.
    From this point, the connection to an oil supply reservoir can be carried out flexibly.

Also applicable in transition connections (PILC-XLPE)

The LoviSil® oil refill joint offers a second advantage: application in transitional situations. In one construction, both the transition from PILC to XLPE cable and the oil supply can be integrated. Two in one:

  • Liquid silicone for perfect electrical insulation
  • Smart oil supply system for longer life of PILC cables

Tested and certified according to CENELEC

During the development and after completion of the construction, various tests were carried out:

  • Functional testing of PUR hose and Protolin® adhesion
  • Type test according to CENELEC 629.2
    Result: the LoviSil® oil refill joint has been successfully tested and meets all standards.
