LoviSil® cable joint resistant to termites

Lovink Enertech adds a new test certificate to the LoviSil® M-series cable joints. This time it was not an HD type approval, but a termite test. The request came from Australia and gave us the opportunity to prove once again how strong the protection of the LoviSil® technology is.

Challenge in Australia – aggressive termites

The South Australian customer works in an area with a lot of problems with Mastotermes Darwiniensis, one of the most aggressive termite species in the world. Normally, an anti-termite mat is used, unless the product itself is termite resistant. Due to a changed measurement method, a new certificate was required.

How did the test go?

A cross-section of a mounted LoviSil® joint was placed in a container together with special wood. Then, researchers added more than 500 termites (500 workers and 50 soldiers). After eight weeks, there was no damage to the socket.

Withstands all soil conditions

The LoviSil® cable joint was already known as one of the strongest joints, both electrically and mechanically. The joint has previously been successfully tested at 2 bar water pressure. Now a proven protection against termites has been added. This makes LoviSil® ideal for extreme conditions worldwide.
