LoviSil® branch joints: solution for maintenance of wind farm
A large wind farm in Paderborn (Germany) is using LoviSil® 30 kV branch joints for the first phase of a major maintenance operation. Thanks to this solution, the team carries out the project efficiently and cost-effectively, without compromising the energy supply.
Economic interim solution for continuity
Maintenance of wind farms must not lead to a long-term failure of energy supply. The economic stakes are high, so the park must remain in operation as much as possible. Lovink Enertech offered the solution: LoviSil® branch joints.
How does a branch joint work?
Wind turbines in a farm are often connected via a ring network. With a LoviSil® branch joint, technicians temporarily loop out an individual wind turbine. This allows maintenance to take place without interrupting the entire network.
- Maintaining wind turbines one by one
- Ring network remains operational
- After maintenance, the ring is easily repaired

The project involved a connection of:
- Main cable: 630 mm²
- Branch cables: 400 mm² and 95 mm²
The LoviSil® branch joints are equipped with a special branch connector for a problem-free connection.
On-site guidance
A certified installation company, specialising in cable installation up to 110 kV, carried out the project. Stefan Pap, Account Manager Germany, was present:
“The installation advantages of the LoviSil® technology were quickly recognized. Despite bad weather conditions, the team carried out the assembly very competently.”
