LoviSil® cable joints for Madeira – 33kV solution
The Portuguese island of Madeira has a high water level and regularly suffers from flooded areas in winter. For a 33 kV route around a tunnel that is often flooded, cable supplier Solidal opted for the LoviSil® cable joint.
Reliable infrastructure for residents and tourists
Madeira is a popular destination for island travelers. The government therefore wants to provide a stable infrastructure for both residents and tourists. LoviSil® 33 kV cable joints were installed for the turnkey project.
Why LoviSil® 33 kV connection joints?
The choice of LoviSil® was determined by:
- Liquid silicone technology for optimal moisture protection
- Robust insulation with polyurethane resin
- Type tests at 2 bar water pressure for maximum reliability
Easy assembly and training
Prior to the installation, five Solidal high-voltage jointers were trained on site. They appreciated the simple and effective assembly.
“The step-by-step assembly and logical construction of the LoviSil® joint made a very reliable impression,” says Export Manager John Lerant.
During the product presentation, new applications were also discussed that are in line with future challenges in Portugal. Enough leads for a sequel!
