Sales Manager UK & Ireland Stephen Davies on the LoviX® R trial

With saturated soil conditions becoming more common across the UK, the demand for reliable jointing solutions is on the rise—especially in coastal and low-lying areas. We spoke with Stephen Davies, UK Account Manager at Lovink Enertech, following a successful workshop trial of the new LoviX® R.

Stephen, how was the LoviX® R received during your initial trial?

“We carried out a hands-on trial with JK Jointing Ltd – an experienced UK contractor we’ve worked with before. I was keen to see how the LoviX® R would be received and honestly, the response was very positive. From the outset, it was clear this wasn’t just a minor update – this was something thoughtfully designed to meet the specific challenges we face here in the UK.”

What stood out to you – and to the installer – about the system?

“There were a few key things that stood out. The installation process is quick and intuitive, everything fits as it should and the instructions strike the right balance: clear without being overcomplicated. The self-centring spiral tube makes for a tidy build and that really reduces the risk of misalignment or error on site.”

“One area we often struggle with in the UK is water sealing, particularly in unstable or flooded conditions. Here, Lovink have done something smart,  the sealing method is reliable and the Protolin® resin is great quality. It’s easy to mix, consistent and it sets solid. That kind of consistency makes a big difference when you’re working against the elements.”

Was there anything unexpected or particularly well received?

“Definitely the compact size. That’s a game-changer for UK installations, especially in tight pits or limited access areas. Also, the all-in-one kit approach was a win. It keeps things well organised, which really helps when you’re juggling logistics on site. And while it’s a small thing, it was great to hear the installer mention the look and feel of the product. The black and red design gives it a professional, finished appearance. It just looks right.”

How did your contractor respond after the trial?

“Justin Hay, who owns JK Jointing, summed it up best when he said: ‘This joint is a step ahead.’ He appreciated the build quality, the resin, the way the design eliminates common weak points – especially around sheath areas. His view was that Lovink have clearly thought this through from an installer’s point of view.”

What’s next for LoviX® R in your region?

“We’re planning a live field trial in Q3, which will be the next step. That’ll give us insight into how the system performs under real conditions—dealing with water exposure, ground movement and the other challenges we face on UK sites. I’m confident that what we saw in the workshop will translate well to the field.”
