LoviSil® Branch Joint solution for a solar park in Würzburg
In the spring of 2025, Anumar selected Lovink Enertech for a medium‑voltage solution for a solar park in the Würzburg region, Germany. Anumar, a German developer and operator of large‑scale solar energy projects, was referred to Lovink by an existing customer and was looking for a reliable and low‑maintenance alternative to traditional switch stations.
Challenge: an alternative to switch stations
For medium‑voltage distribution within their solar parks, Anumar initially considered switch stations. However, this solution involves high investment costs, often combined with lease constructions and regular maintenance obligations throughout the operational lifetime of the park.
The client therefore looked for an alternative that:
- Is technically reliable
- Has lower investment costs
- Requires little to no maintenance during operation.
Solution: LoviSil® Branch Joints
Lovink Enertech supplied a solution based on branch joints for medium‑voltage cables. Compared to the previously considered switch stations, the Lovink solution proved to be considerably more cost‑efficient. In addition, no lease construction is required and regular maintenance is not necessary. This fits well with the long service life and operational requirements of solar parks.
A branch joint makes it possible to create a tap‑off directly from the main cable. In solar parks, this results in a compact and robust medium‑voltage distribution solution, without additional switch stations or moving, maintenance‑sensitive components.
The installation of the branch joints at the solar park was carried out smoothly and without any
technical issues or difficulties. Both preparation and execution proceeded just as planned.
Field demonstration
Prior to the start of the first project, Lovink organized a field demonstration for the client with 15 participants, which was well received. After the theoretical and practical presentation, one of the jointers carried out the installation and received his certificate immediately after the assessment.
Outlook
The outlook for solar energy in Germany remains positive. Increased government subsidies and continued investment in renewable energy are accelerating the development of new solar parks and long‑term infrastructure.
“Germany is currently investing heavily in solar energy through increased subsidies. This creates strong opportunities for new solar projects and long‑term infrastructure solutions.”
